Human Right agencies and protection of human rights in India

A guest lecture on “Human Right agencies and protection of human rights in India” was organized on 28thAugust 2019 in School of Law. The lecture began with the introduction of esteemed speaker Dr. Sanjay Dubey, Director, National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi. He began his lecture by briefing the students about the history of NHRC, how it came into existence and its work. Further, he discussed about human rights and its relation with Article 13 of the Constitution of India. He further cleared a lot of misconceptions about human rights and gave the students a much clearer idea. He also extensively discussed Legal Rights, Natural Rights, Human Rights and Fundamental Rights. Later, he invited the students for a question-answer session on a much broader perspective about human rights. The session ended with a hearty thanks and the presentation of a memento to Dr. Sanjay Dubey by Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Head of Department, School of Law in appreciation for taking the time out to educate the students on human rights. Dr. Kumar thanked the Management for providing this platform to organize the guest lecture. Dr. Kumar appreciated the efforts of faculty members and students for successfully conducting this guest lecture.
