Report on REVELATIONS’16 - Intra-Departmental Fest organised by Department of Computer Science

 “Change is the permanent thing in the world’. Revelations is the intra departmental annual fest conducted for P.G. students to show case their talents. This fest provides opportunity to all the MCA  M.Sc (Computer Science) and M.Sc ( Computer Science and Applications) students to enhance their leadership skills and overcome their fears.

Revelations 2016, was conducted on 24 February 2016. An annual fest, which has lasted for about two months. Three teams were made of the entire lot of students, who went all out to show their expertise. ‘Game of Thrones’ was the theme for this year depicting the philosophy of ‘WIN THE CROWD’.

The fest provided a platform for young talent to bloom. Many found their hidden talents and overcame their fears. Events like Coding, Gaming, Dance, Singing, Football, Basketball, Treasure hunt, Chess, WHAM and Debate had prelims on January. Coding showed us where we stood in the IT world, others had another tale to tell. Quiz was interesting having teams biting their nails to prompt an answer within seconds. It was amazing to witness the children in us, who gave headshots in every two steps; Gaming.  The likes of Dance and Singing revealed the rich heritage we still carry along with us. Events like Football, Basketball tested our physical skills, and Treasure hunt and Chess our mental skills. WHAM(Wait Ha Minute), Best Manager, Product Launch, all called for quick wit and a stable stand. The events touched on every aspect, be it mental, physical or emotional.

The final day of Revelations 2016 on 24th February, was inaugurated by Mr. Avesh Kumar Jha, Vice President OD & PM Pvt Ltd. He gave us an insight into the change around us in the IT industry and some tips to cope up with it. This day had in store all the finals of events. The events consisted of Quiz, Best Manager, Product Launch, Photography, and Short Movie. It was a tussle! All three teams put in their best to become the overall champions.

The closing ceremony of Revelations 2016 saw our chief guest Dr. K.T. Paul, Department of Physics, impart both knowledge and wisdom in our life. Revelation 2016, truly stood up to its theme of ‘Win the crowd’.  Revelation 2016 has been organized by Prof. K.N. Saravanan, Prof. Rohini,  and          Prof. Karthick under the guidance of Prof. Joy Paulose, HOD, Department of Computer Science and Prof. C.N. Rajeshwari (Co-ordinator, M.Sc and MCA).
