X eBit 2018

The Department of Computer Science, CHRIST(Deemed to be University) organizes the project exhibition, X-eBit every year. It gives an opportunity for the postgraduate students to exhibit their academic project work. The project work includes Internet of Things, computer programming knowledge, Advanced Database Management System (ADBMS) and Project Management System concepts.  X-eBit 2018, organized on 2March 2018, witnessed an overwhelming and enthusiastic participation from the students of 4th semester Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and 2nd semester MSc Computer Science (CS).

 

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Tony Sam George, HOD, Department of Psychology& Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences,CHRIST (Deemed to be University). In his inaugural address, he highlighted the importance of Internet of Things and its real time applications. He appreciated and encouraged the students to conduct and participate in technical symposiums, seminars and exhibitions in order to gain knowledge and exhibit their ideas.

 

More than fifty students of MCA and MSc CS with high spirit of competition and enthusiasm participated in the exhibition. 9 project implementations in the areas of Internet of Things and 9 project implementations in the areas of Advanced Database Management System were showcased. Some interesting projects included Guide Your Ride, Electricity Generation Using Windmills on Highway, Smart Data Acquisition System for Wind Turbine, Cloud Based Child Tracking System using Raspberry PI, Smart Talk, Environmental prevention from Industrial Hazards using IoT, Foodie Bay (Restaurant Management System), Mein Auto, Connect  - Mobile App, VN Herbals, Vehicle Management System, Medi-Tracker.

The projects have been demonstrated in specially arranged stalls in the Central campus and it is opened for visitors from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Many faculty members and students from CHRIST (Deemed to be University)and other colleges visited the stalls and appreciated the work done by students.The competition was judged by a panel of industry experts Mr.Virupaxgouda C KumbarKattimani, Software Engineer(Full Stack Developer), SnapwizEdutec India Pvt. Ltd. and Mr.Germia, Software Engineer, Cerner. The projects were appreciated by judges for their novelty and its real time applications.

 

Cash prizes along with the certificates were distributed to the winners for their effective project demonstration. Participation certificates were distributed to the remaining students for their competitive effort.
