National Cadet Corps (NCC)

Christ (Deemed to be University) Delhi NCR Campus has applied for NCC Unit, at 37 UP Bn, Ghaziabad, for a half company consisting of  senior cadets.

National Cadet Corps (NCC) upholds the aims of the National Cadet Corps i.e., to develop character, commandership, discipline and leadership, secular outlook, and spirit of adventure along with the ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country. The CHRIST (Deemed to be University) NCC devotedly trains the Cadets to imbibe the above mentioned values and be responsible citizens of the country. The CHRIST NCC Army Wing, under the 37 UP Battalion, is open to both male and female students. 

The activities of the NCC at CHRIST are guided by certain core values that we endeavor to instill among the Cadets. In addition, NCC provides an environment conducive to motivating cadets in joining the armed forces and also holds a record of producing cadets, on a regular basis, who join the Indian Armed Forces.

The University offers an extensive training programme under the Army Wing of the National Cadet Corps. The total numbers of parades in a year will be twenty one and are held in the University campus. The regular parades include training in drill, map reading, weapon training, obstacle training and Military subjects (theory classes) etc. In addition to the regular parade Cadets will get training for firing, social service and adventure.

The adventure training and activities include parasailing, horse riding, rock climbing, firing, mountaineering, cycle expedition, motorcycle expedition, trekking etc.

 

Eligibility: I Degree students

Certificates: ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate after three years of training

Use of B & C: The Cadets are exempted from CDS examination conducted by UPSC and get a direct entry into SSB. The Cadets should have an 'A' or 'B' grade in 'C' certificate examination. Also preference is given to B & C certificate holders in Defense Services, Police services, Paramilitary forces, Fire forces, BSF, Territorial Army, Industrial Security Forces, Public Sectors, and all uniform services. 60 Engineering Seats, 16 Medical Seats, 6-7% of Post Graduation seats are reserved for NCC cadets in most of the Indian Universities.

A reservation for NCC cadets in Engineering Seats, Medical Seats and Post Graduation seats are available in most of the Indian Universities.

Cadets can get the chance to be a part of various activities at the Directorate. They can represent the State in the Republic Day Camps, Thal Sainik Camps and the country represented at Youth Exchange Programme (YEP). NCC is the only certificate program which provides up to 8 credits.
