A Web lecture on “Human Right and The International Covenants” was organized by Dr. Bhavana Sharma on 7th May 2020. The lecture began with the introduction of esteemed speaker Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Tandon, Former Judge, Uttarakhand High Court, Chairperson-Law Commission, Uttarakhand by Dr. Ramesh Kumar, HOD School of Law. Hon’ble Justice Tandon Started the session by first briefing the students about the Human Rights, how it evolved and what are the rights for every individual. Further he explained about Human Rights and its relations. Justice Rajesh Tandon discussed in details human rights issues and its relationship with Art 21 of the Indian Constitution. He further cleared a lot of about Human Rights and International Covenants. He then talked about the current issue that is widespread across the world Covid19 and people who are affected due to this. Later he invited the students for a question- answer session giving them a much broader perspective about Human Rights. The session ended with a hearty thanks to Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Tandon, Former Judge, Uttarakhand High Court, Chairperson-Law Commission, Uttarakhand by Dr. Bhavana Sharma, Faculty, School of Law in appreciation for taking the time out to educate the students on Human rights. Hon’ble Justice Tandon thanked the Management for providing this platform to organize the Web lecture on Human Right and The International Covenants. Justice Tandon appreciated the faculty members, and Students for successfully conducting the guest lecture.
