MCom


MCom programme is intended to develop teaching and research skills among students to create academic expertise suiting to contemporary needs of society.  Duration of the programme is two years. It nurtures research culture among students and has innovative courses like papers by research, collaborative research publication with a research mentor, social based micro project, industry internship, and teaching practice in BCom classes under the supervision of experienced faculty mentors.The third and fourth semesters offers electives in ‘Accounting and Taxation’ & ‘Banking and Insurance’. Students are also required to present & publish a research work in the second year. As a value addition- current affairs and journal club sessions are regularly conducted.

Transforming teaching as ‘a noble profession driven by passion’ is the need of the hour. It demands nurturing right Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, and Habits (KASH) among budding academicians. Knowledge creation through research should be the mission of any higher education institution.Hence our MCom programme has the following objectives :

  • To create faculty of quality and competence in the subject areas of Commerce & Management.
  • To inculcate research culture among students.
  • To nurture personal, interpersonal and societal skills among students with a focus on Holistic Education.

A candidate who has passed any Undergraduate degree examination in (BCom / BBM / BBA) with 50 % aggregate marks from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU are eligible to apply.

(Applicants who are in the final year of their studies should have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far) Students appearing for their final degree examinations in March-May 2020 are also eligible to apply.

Applicants may apply for the programme from 8 December, 2019 (NRI applicants opting for selection process in Kuwait/Dubai will be able to apply from 1 October, 2019) when applications will be available online on the University website till the date applications will officially close.

Application Mode: All applicants using online or offline mode must visit the page: http://appncr.christuniversity.in/. Register by entering your NAME (as printed on Class 10 Marks Card) EMAIL-ID and set password.  (The email id and mobile number provided will be used for sending confirmation and application status-update messages).   

 

Online mode: To fill and submit application using online mode, log on to our website www.ncr.christuniversity.in and click on “Admissions”, proceed to click on the Application Status followed by appstat link: http://appncr.christuniversity.in/. On the confirmation page click, on ‘Applications’ and click on the preferred programme.

 

Direct mode: Application forms will be available at Office of Admission, Christ (Deemed to be University) Delhi NCR, Mariam Nagar, Meerut Road, Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad - 201003. To fill and submit application using offline mode, log on to our website www.ncr.christuniversity.in and click on “Admissions”, proceed to click on the Application Status followed by appstat link: http://appncr.christuniversity.in/  In the confirmation page click, on ‘Applications’ and click on the preferred programme. Choose offline application and enter the Application No., which is printed on the top left corner of this page, and the Receipt No. printed on the receipt.

 

Guidelines to applicants:

a) To fill the application you must have a copy of statement of marks of Class 10, Class 12, Degree Marks Cards (whichever is available) (Mandatory) and Provisional degree certificate / Convocation certificate, if candidate has completed / graduated from the qualifying programme(Mandatory).

b) Fill-in all the details in the “detailed application” page. Scan and upload recent passport size photograph (3.5 cms x 4.5 cms formal dress with white background) and click “Submit”. On clicking Submit, a viewable and editable page will appear on screen. In case you need to make any corrections; you may edit the data/details and then click “Confirm Submission”.

c) Application registration fee may be paid through Credit / Debit Card / Net banking facility (for online applicants only).

d) Choose the payment option and fill-in the required details to process the “Application processing fee”. The application will be submitted online after payment of application processing fee.

e) After the payment is successful you will receive the application number with the option to print your application form.

f) Print and sign the application form. Keep a copy of the application form for further reference and to produce at the time of selection process.

 

Candidates must send the filled in application with the following documents mentioned below in an A4 size envelope only. Candidates must mark the [PROGRAMME APPLIED FOR] Admissions 2020 – [APPLICATION NO] on the top left hand corner of the A4 size envelope for faster processing of application form.

  1. Copy of the original filled-in printed application form duly signed by the parent / guardian and the candidate (Mandatory).
  2. Copy of the application processing fee online payment acknowledgment slip (Mandatory).
  3. Copy of Statement of marks of Class 10 and 12 (Mandatory), copy of Degree Marks Card (if result awaited, marks card available currently)(Mandatory), copy of Provisional degree certificate / Convocation certificate, if candidate has completed / graduated from the qualifying programme(Mandatory).
  4. Copy of Transfer Certificate from last qualified Institution (UG) (If available while applying).
  5. Copy of Migration Certificate from last qualified University for all candidates except for students studying in Uttar Pradesh (If available while applying).
  6. Candidates falling under any of these categories (NRI / PIO / OCI / SAARC / AFRICA / ASEAN /OTHER FOREIGN NATIONALS) have to submit:

          a] Copy of Passport and Visa Details (Mandatory).   

          b] Candidates applying under PIO or OCI have to produce the copy of PIO or OCI card    whichever is   applicable (Mandatory).

Candidates will be intimated about the Selection status (Selected / Wait Listed / Not Selected) through the “Application Status” link on the University website. The Selection results will be declared as mentioned in the important dates link.

Note: Candidates must note that if selected, admission is provisional and subject to University rules.

Candidates are required to choose the preferred date and time from available options to facilitate smooth admission process.

As per UGC guidelines, fee payment has to be made through online mode. Payment options and details will be provided to selected candidates through ‘Offer of Admission’ on ‘Application status’ on the University website. Fees for first year including Admission Registration fee must be paid in full as part of the admission process.

Admission will not be processed without the presence of the candidate and the mandatory ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS and one set of photocopies mentioned below;

1. Class 10 Marks Statement (Mandatory).

2. Class 12 Marks Statement, if candidate has appeared and passed the examination (Mandatory).

3. Transfer Certificate (TC) of Class 12 from the last qualified institution (Mandatory).

4. Migration Certificate of Class 12 (applicable for all candidates except Uttar Pradesh state board applicants) (Mandatory).

5. One Stamp size and One passport size photograph formal dress with white background (Mandatory).

6. Two Copies of the Online Payment Receipt (Mandatory).

7. Copy of valid ID proof (Aadhar Card / Aadhar Enrolment Receipt).

8. Candidates falling under any of these categories (NRI / PIO / OCI / SAARC / AFRICA / ASEAN / OTHER FOREIGN NATIONALS) have to submit:

    a] Copy of Passport and Visa Details (Mandatory).

    b] PIO / OCI have to produce the copy of PIO / OCI card whichever is applicable (Mandatory).     

    c] Medical Fitness Certificate (MFC) from any recognized medical practitioner certified by the Medical Council of India and

    d] Resident Permit (RP) (If available while applying)

 

All mandatory documents must be submitted for verification during the admission process. An undertaking for pending original documents unavailable currently [applicable only for candidates writing / passing their exam in March – June 2020], must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. These documents must be submitted on or before July, 2020. Failure to submit the pending documents will be treated as unsuccessful in the qualifying examination or considered “Not Eligible” and admission will be terminated from CHRIST (Deemed to be University) without any claim.

All admitted students must open an account at South Indian Bank, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Branch as part of the admission process and must carry relevant ID proof (Aadhar Card and Pan Card). The University ID card is a smart card, which is both an ID cum ATM card with a chip containing the student personal details. All transactions within the University campus after commencement of classes, including fee payment will be processed only through this card. It is also an access card for Library and other restricted places.

Selected candidates who fall under International student category (ISC) should register with the Foreigner Regional Registration Officer (FRRO / FRO) of the Local Police, India within 14 working days from the date of admission or arriving at Campus.

The date of commencement of the academic Year 2020 - 2021 will be intimated during the admission process.

I) The University does not collect any type of capitation / donation other than the fees mentioned in the website.

II) CHRIST (Deemed to be University) does not authorize any Third Party / Agents / Person to apply / offer admission on its behalf. CHRIST (Deemed to be University) will not be responsible for applicants being misguided by such individuals / SMS / Email.

III) All those admitted to the programme will have to purchase a laptop at their own cost, if required by the department.

IV) Admitted students who wish to avail bank loan will be provided a recommendation letter on request by presenting the original fee paid receipt to the Office of Admissions.

V) The decision of the admission committee is final and binding.

BCom (Honours) Entrance Test is conducted across India for 2020-21 Batch, and Selection Process (SA_MP_PI) will be conducted in NCR (National Capital Region), Kolkata & Bengaluru only.

 

The Guidelines are as follows:


1. On processing the application, an E-admit card will be uploaded for the Entrance Test, Skill Assessment, Micro Presentation and Personal Interview. The Centre allotment is based on the candidate’s preference on the application form and further change will not be entertained. However, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) reserves the right to cancel, combine or change the test Centre, depending on the number of candidates in specific Centres. The selection process E-Admit card will be generated 5 days prior to the scheduled selection process date.


2. Candidates can access the E-Admit card from the CHRIST (Deemed to be University) website at the link "Current Status of Online application" by typing his/her application number and date of birth.


3. You will not be allowed to appear for the Selection Process without the E-Admit Card, and the mandatory original documents (Class X and XI / XII) and a set of photocopy.


4. Candidates must report for the selection process at the allotted date and atleast 30 minutes prior to the time stipulated in the E-Admit Card


5. Those candidates not reaching the venue at the allotted date and time will not be permitted to take part in the selection process and the application fee is Non Refundable, in any case


6. The candidates are requested to start early to avoid traffic congestions


7. Request for change in Selection Process dates / timings and change in Centre will not be entertained.


8. Cellular phone, Satellite phone, pager. etc., are not allowed into the Selection Process Venue, in any case.


9. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the Selection Process of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) at any Centre.


10. The responsibility of satisfying the eligibility criteria for Admission rests with the student / candidate. Issue of the E-Admit Card for the selection process does not imply that the eligibility criteria are satisfied.

Candidates falling under any of the below mentioned categories must apply under the International Student Category:

  1.  Foreign citizens,
  2.  PIO card holders and
  3.  OCI (Dual Citizens)

International students coming from Non-English speaking countries should:

 a) produce evidence of passing the qualifying examination in English medium or

 b) have IELTS 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5 or TOEFL (paper) 550, TOEFL (computer) of 213 or TOEFL (IBT) of 79 scores

 

Candidates without the above pre-qualifications will have to enroll either for

 a) Intensive Certificate course in English Language (Full Time) conducted from March to May each year or

 b) One Semester Certificate course in English Language (Part Time) conducted after regular class hours from June to December.

 

Note: The International Student category fee structure is binding for the full duration of the programme and cannot be transferred /changed in between.

 Candidates from the above listed categories having pursued Indian Educational qualification and who may have applied under the Indian States Category will have to pay the International Student Category Fee. The decision of the Admission committee is final.

 Candidates seeking admission through International Student category (Foreign Nationals/PIO/OCI) will have a separate application process, with the following options to apply for any programme at Christ University.

Admission for NRI Student Category

Students who fall under any of the following classifications, at the time of application may apply under NRI Student category and be liable to pay the fees applicable to the category for the entire duration of the course.

 

1. NRI defined under the Indian Income Tax Law

2. Either of the parents is outside India (except Nepal) on Work Permit / Resident Permit.

3. Indian citizen financed by any Institution / agency outside India, even if parents are Residents of India.

4. Indian Citizen who has pursued studies for qualifying examination in any foreign / Indian syllabus outside India.

5. Indian citizen pursued studies for qualifying examination in foreign syllabi in India.

 

Note: If only condition 5 is satisfied, and not conditions 1 to 4 above, NRI student category fee will be applicable only for the first year.

Miscellaneous Information

It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for both the years, there may be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs.

1. NRI fee is applicable for first year for candidates who have studied foreign syllabus (has to be approved by UGC / AIU) in the qualifying examination of study in India. (The above condition is not applicable to NRI and candidates applied under NRI Category).

4. Admission registration fee of INR 5000/- is non-refundable in the event of cancellation of admission. This fee will be apart from cancellation charges if any applicable.

5. All Candidates If “Selected” after appearing for the final selection process, The fee may be paid through the following option:

  • Payment can made through Net banking / NEFT / RTGS
  • Payment / Transfer of fees does not guarantee the admission.
