1. Social Entrepreneurship Swachhta & Rural Engagement cell (SES & REC)
Certificate from Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry of Education, Govt of India, recognising CHRIST ( Deemed to be University) as a Social Entrepreneurship Swachhta & Rural Engagement cell (SES & REC) institution.
2. UNAI membership
United Nations Acadmic Impact membership adds CHRIST ( Deemd to be University) to the UNAI team of 1470 institutions in 146 countries who are working with the United Nations to promote global priorities, including peace, human rights, and sustainable development.
3.Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a program launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. (http://unnatbharatabhiyan.gov.in), Since the vision and mission of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was in alignment with UBA’s vision and mission, it got involved in the programme and became a participating institution (PI)from 1st August 2017. It was also an opportunity for the University to involve its students and faculty in India’s sustainable development.
Aim of UBA is to bring transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India and the mission is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. It also aims to create a virtuous cycle between society and an inclusive academic system by providing knowledge and practices for emerging professions and to upgrade the capabilities of both the public and the private sectors in responding to the development needs of rural India.
The conceptualization of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan program started with the initiative of a group of dedicated faculty members of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi working for long in the area of rural development and appropriate technology. The concept was nurtured through wide consultation with the representatives of a number of technical institutions, Rural Technology Action Group (RuTAG) coordinators, voluntary organizations and government agencies, who were actively involved in rural development work, during a National workshop held at IIT Delhi in September, 2014. The program was formally launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in presence of The President of India on 11th November, 2014.
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has adopted six villages, viz. Appasandra, Doddathaggalli, Gonakanahalli, Govindapura, Thaggalli Hosahalli and Yelachammanahalli in Hoskote Taluk, Bangalore Rural District.
