Programme Objective

Program Structure

The School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) (SLCU), Delhi NCR, is approved by the Bar Council of India to conduct the BBA., LL.B. (Honours) a five years integrated programme. The school offers a five-year integrated law programme, the successful completion of which will earn the student a BBA., LL.B. (Honours) degree to be awarded by CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The course is called integrated because it involves the learning of commerce and business management subjects along with the in-depth learning of the subjects of law and legislature. This course has been designed by experts to meet the demands of the current corporate sectors.

This course extends for five years and naturally, comprises of ten semesters. In addition to the mandatory course over the ten semester Programme, SLCU, Delhi NCR has introduced for the benefits of its students numerous other value-added courses aimed at enabling the students to be at par with the standards of legal education imparted at the best international Universities. We have put in innumerable efforts in designing the curriculum and pedagogy of the 5 years course of BBA., LL.B. (Honours), so that it highly speaks of creativity, innovation, and experimental learning approaches.

Mentoring is a dynamic way of facilitating the overall development of any student.Academic Mentoring helps the students to reach their full potential, in the way that their academic progress is monitored, analysed and improved. Selection process results will be available on https://appncr.christuniversity.in according to the Important Dates section. Selected candidates will receive an E-Offer of admission that will be valid up to the date mentioned in the Offer of admission.  

All selected candidates must note that admission is provisional and subject to University rules.

To process admission

  • Candidates must choose the preferred date and time from available options to facilitate a smooth admission process.
  • Admission must be processed at the campus where the programme is offered as published in the offer of admission.
  • As per UGC guidelines, fee payment has to be made through online mode.
  • Payment options and details will be available in the Offer of admission.
  • Fees for the first year including Admission Registration fee must be paid in full as part of the admission process.

All original marks cards and one set of photocopies must be submitted for verification at the time of admission as mentioned below

  • Class 10 Marks Statement and Class 11/12 Marks Statement (Mandatory).
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) of Class 12 from the last qualified institution must be submitted by 15 July 2023 (Mandatory).
  • Migration Certificate of Class 12 (applicable for all candidates except Karnataka state board applicants) must be submitted by 15 July 2023 (Mandatory).
  • One Stamp size and one passport size photograph formal dress with a white background (Mandatory).
  • Two Copies of the Online Payment Receipt (Mandatory).
  • Copy of valid ID proof (Aadhar Card / Aadhar Enrolment Receipt / PAN Card / Voter ID Card).
  • Candidates falling under any of these categories (NRI / PIO / OCI / SAARC / AFRICA / ASEAN / OTHER FOREIGN NATIONALS) have to submit:
  1. Copy of Passport and Visa Details (Mandatory).
  2. PIO / OCI have to produce a copy of the PIO / OCI card whichever is applicable (Mandatory).
  3. Medical Fitness Certificate (MFC) from any recognized medical practitioner certified by the Medical Council of India and
  4. Resident Permit (RP) (If available while applying)

All mandatory documents must be submitted for verification during the admission process.

An undertaking for pending original documents unavailable currently [applicable only for candidates writing/passing their exam in March – June - 2023], must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. These documents must be submitted on or before 15 July 2023.

  • Failure to submit the pending documents will be treated as unsuccessful in the qualifying examination or considered “Not Eligible”, and admission will be terminated from CHRIST (Deemed to be University) without any claim.
  • All admitted students must open an account at South Indian Bank, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Branch as part of the admission process and must carry relevant ID proof (Aadhar Card and Pan Card).
  • The University ID card is a smart card, which is both an ID cum ATM card with a chip containing the student personal details. All transactions within the University campus after the commencement of classes, including fee payment, will be processed only through this card. It is also an access card for Library and other restricted places.
  • Selected candidates who fall under International student category (ISC) should register with the Foreigner Regional Registration Officer (FRRO / FRO) of the Local Police in Ghaziabad, India within 14 working days from the date of admission or arriving in Ghaziabad.

The date of commencement of the Academic Year 2023 will be intimated during the admission process.

Please Note:

  • The University does not collect any capitation/donation other than the fees mentioned on the website.
  • All those admitted to the programme will have to purchase a laptop at their own cost if required by the department.
  • Admitted students who wish to avail bank loan will be provided with a recommendation letter on request by presenting the original fee paid receipt to the Office of Admissions.
  • The decision of the admission committee is final and binding.

Applicants may apply for the programme from 21 January, 2023 when applications will be available online on the University website till the date applications officially close.

Applications for each programme will close approximately a week before the scheduled selection process.

All applicants must visit the page: https://appncr.christuniversity.in and register by entering NAME (as printed on Class 10 Marks Card), EMAIL-ID and set a password (the email id and mobile number provided will be used for sending confirmation and application status-update messages). An applicant can apply for as many programmes using the same ID as long as the prescribed eligibility criteria for the specific programme is fulfilled.

Applicants must have the following documents before filling the application online:

  • Copy of statement of marks of Class 10, Class 11/ 12 (Mandatory).

  • Make payment using a card and after successful payment, click on submit.  A 9 (nine) digit application number will be generated. Candidates without the above pre-qualifications will have to enroll either for

  • Intensive Certificate course in English Language (Full Time) conducted from March to May each year or

Students who fall under any of the following classifications can apply under NRI Student category and be liable to pay the fees applicable to the category for the entire duration of the programme.

1. NRI defined under the Indian Income Tax Law

2. Either of the parents is outside India (except Nepal) on Work Permit / Resident Permit

3. Indian citizen financed by any Institution / agency outside India, even if parents are residents of India

4. Indian citizen who has pursued studies for qualifying examination in any foreign / Indian syllabus outside India.

5. NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the programme for candidates who;

The programme is oriented towards the industry and is aided by an advisory board which is comprised of some of the leading lights in the legal fraternity. We provide 100% internship to our students every year, facilitating them to get practical exposure and employability. For filling the gaps of learning, School of Law organizes guest lectures by legal luminaries, which help the law students in understanding the profession clearly.

PO1: ACADEMIC EXPERTISE                    
On successful completion of the Programme students will be able to -
1.    Demonstrate a critical understanding of the key concepts in law.
2.    Display knowledge in core and non-core (interdisciplinary) areas of law.
3.    Evince strong understanding of the patterns of governance and the underlying reasons for the same.
 
PO2: CRITICAL THINKING, LEGAL REASONING AND RESEARCH SKILLS
On successful completion of the Programme students will be able to -
1.   Review, present and critically evaluate qualitative and quantitative information to:
    •    Develop constructive arguments, employing logical legal reasoning.
    •    Apply underlying concepts, principles, and techniques of analysis, both within and outside the  discipline.
    •    Engage in deliberations and discussions on issues of local, regional, national and global importance.
    •    Evaluate laws, as against the laws in other jurisdictions, and on the touchstone of constitutional values and the values advanced in the Sustainable development goals.
    •    Make sound judgments and suggest improvements in the law, in accordance with major theories, concepts and methods of the subject(s) of study

PO3: PROFESSIONAL SKILLS       
On successful completion of the Programme students will be able to demonstrate-

   •    Articulation skills in communication, clarity of thought in expression and present their viewpoints accurately and convincingly whether oral or written to members of the legal community.
   •    Court manners and etiquette in their professional law practice.
   •    Employ sound logical legal reasoning for advancing arguments and representing the best interests of the client in a professional and ethical manne

2. Leadership skills through initiatives, inclusiveness, confidence and working effectively in groups.
3. Problem solving and dispute resolution skills that encourages social cohesion.
4. Drafting/ Pleading and Conveyance skills in the use of accurate legal language and formats of drafting.
5.  Efficiency in the use of various tools and techniques in negotiation and vetting of contracts.

On successful completion of the Programme students will be able to -

1. Analyze problems and suggest concrete measures to corporates in formulation of plans for efficient          utilization of resources.
2. Evaluate companies' performances based on financial reports using various financial tools.
