A guest lecture on “International Human Right and the Role of State in Protecting Rights to Health” was held on 8th May 2020. The lecture began with the introduction of our esteemed guest Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi. He began by the lecture by briefing us about the concept of Human Rights, its evolution and the rights for every individual specifically right to health. Further he discussed about Human Rights and the obligations of the states in following those rights. He further discussed about Human Rights and the role of the state in protecting the right to health. He then talked about the current issue that is widespread across the world i.e. Covid-19 and people who are affected due to this pandemic and further he talked about the role of WHO. Later he invited the students for a question- answer session giving them a much broader perspective about Human Rights. The session ended with a hearty thanks to Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha by Ms. Shradha Sanjeev, Assistant Professor, School of Law in appreciation for taking the time out to educate the students on Human rights. Prof. Kumar thanked the Management for providing this platform to organize the guest lecture on International Human Right and the Role of State in Protecting Rights to Health. Dr. Kumar appreciated the faculty members, student volunteers, and participants for successfully conducting the guest lecture.
