Library and Information Centre, in collaboration with the Department of Economics, School of Humanities and Social Sciences conducted the sixth Book Talk programme on the book “Emerging Giants: China and India in the World Economy” by Barry Eichengreen, Poonam Gupta and Rajiv Kumar on 23 February 2021 from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm on Cisco WebEx platform.

The programme began with the welcome note by Mr. George Jerish C.J, the librarian of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR. Dr Jitender Bhandari (Associate Professor, Department of Economics) introduced the book “Emerging Giants: China and India in the World Economy” by Barry Eichengreen, Poonam Gupta and Rajiv Kumar and gave an insight about the three parts of the book in brief. The three parts of the book are as follows.
Part I. China and India in the Global Economy
Part II. Contrasts in Development Experience
Part III. Challenges to Sustaining Growth
It was an interactive session where students asked various questions about the book and they shared their observations on the content

of the book. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Reeta Tomar (Academic Coordinator, Department of Economics).
