VALENTINES DAY

The CSA wing of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Delhi- NCR celebrated its first official event offline. i.e., on campus after approximately one year. The event took place on a Monday morning, commencing during the early hours by 8:15 am. The event involved both live interaction and craftwork.
The base was built on making bookmarks and handing it out to the faculty members, staff and housekeeping staff. It came to our realization that, the occasion of valentine’s day is not necessarily an occasion to spread love with commitment, that too within any sort of relationships. It is just another chance to spread love, joy, affection and let people feel wanted and cheerful. Keeping in mind the wastage and need for ecological sustainability, the bookmarks were made from used newspapers. Students prepared 210 handmade bookmarks and posters which were designed on the theme of three Magical Words: - Compassion, Kindness and Humanity, were pinned in every classroom.
The students started giving out the bookmarks at the main gate. In addition, to add beauty to the surroundings, the students also played serene songs on the speakers.
To add excitement to the event, the students also had a soft board put up, wherein they encouraged signatures, messages and notes from students and professors. During the morning hours before the classes commenced by the first hour, the students incited quite a bit of attention, and most people couldn’t wait till afternoon to get another load and rush of enthusiasm.
Post the classes, the students had the notice board set on the pathway of Block A & B, right at the center of the campus. Needless to say, the place was like the eye of the storm for the next 45 minutes. Students and teachers enjoyed the beautiful music tapes and attracted the crowd to contribute their thoughts through pen and paper.
Some penned down beautiful thoughts about love and bonds while some pinned beautiful self-composed poems onto the board. Moreover, there were a set of students also present to monitor the language and censor usage as well, to ensure the sanity and elegance of the event.
The three Magical words incorporated on Valentine’s Day 2021 (Compassion, Kindness and Humanity) gave an insight to all the CHRISTITES, faculty members and staff who participated in this event.
