This programme integrates Robotics and Mechatronics. Robotics emphasise on synergistic integration of mechanical structures, mechanisms, electrical and electronic components, electromechanical sensors and actuators, microcontrollers, and programming, whereas Mechatronics, covers synergistic integration of mechanical engineering, control theory, computer science, and electronics to manage complexity, uncertainty, and communication in engineered systems. Programme is offered in multi-disciplinary nature, which combines mechanical, electronics and computing engineering
and will add versatility to the graduates' capabilities. Graduates will be able to adapt flexibly to a wide range of industries, and make contributions in developing new technologies and pioneering new approaches in production. Graduates will also be able to upgrade their knowledge and skills by pursuing their studies in local or overseas universities. The programme prepares graduates to learn how to build robots and gadgets as required in specialized areas such as automation and robotics, wafer fabrication, aerospace or biomedical engineering.
