BCom (Finance and Investment) programme is designed for students who wish to acquire advanced knowledge in Finance and Investment and prepares them for a career within the broad frame of the financial sector, including profiles related to Investment Banking, Financial Management, Equity and Debt Management, Commercial Banking, Insurance Underwriting, Risk Management and Management Consulting. The programme’s curriculum is set at an ‘advanced’ level for finance and investment.
The programme equips students with skills to undertake financial analysis and create and comprehend investment tactics to navigate the intricate landscape of global finance and investments adeptly. It nurtures students with expertise in specific domains such as stock-market investment and trading, portfolio management, private equity, equity research, equity management and alternative investment. Students become adept at making financial decisions as individuals, companies or venture capital firms by using knowledge of Corporate Finance, Corporate Valuation, Venture Financing and Advanced Financial Modelling. The cutting-edge curriculum, aligned with professional qualifications, immersive internship opportunities, industry-focused workshops, and capstone projects, enhances students' employability. The programme aspires to hone and develop students to occupy strategic positions and management consulting roles in global finance and investment domains.
It also aims to kindle the passion for finance and investment in students by using experiential learning techniques and case study methodology and also instills ethical values in students to become responsible global citizens.
A unique feature of BCOM F&I program is the Special Finance & Investment training tracks (Three Levels spread across three semesters) - Semester 1 - Foundation Level (Mandatory for all students ); Semester 2 - Intermediate Level (Mandatory for all students ); Semester 3 - Advance level (Optional) These tracks, led by industry practitioners, cover advanced topics in the areas of Quantitative Finance, Financial Modelling, Equity Research, Technical Analysis etc. equipping students with skills that help them prepare for Global Finance and Investment certifications, and enhance their internship opportunities. Students who do not opt for the advanced course in Semester 3 must take CISI Level 1 to ensure they receive comprehensive industry preparation. These Special training tracks are offered at an additional nominal fee.
