Overview

Centre For Social and Policy Research (CSPR)

The Centre for Social and Policy Research (CSPR) is functioning as a part of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), focuses on social and policy research and advocacy. The Centre focuses on social issues and policies across the broader areas of Marginalisation, Social Inclusion, Education, Economy, Law, Administration, Health, and Labour Welfare. The Centre for Social and Policy Research has a rich history, rooted in its predecessor, the Centre for Social Research, founded in 1999. In 2022, the Centre was reinvigorated, emerging as the Centre for Social and Policy Research and was extended in 2025 at the Delhi NCR Campus. This transformation marked a strategic shift in our mission, placing a renewed emphasis on policy research and advocacy.

Strategy

Centre for Social and Policy Research (CSPR): The Centre is a research-focused initiative that is dedicated to the study of foreign policy, security studies, and public policy. The Centre focuses on a wide range of national and international issues, with particular emphasis on marginalisation, social inclusion, traditional and non-traditional security, education, economy, law, administration, health, and labour welfare with an emphasis on linking academic research to policy discussions. In its first year, the Centre has initiated basic academic activities such as expert lectures, Panel Discussion, and peer learning sessions with scholars from institutions like Jawaharlal Nehru University, Chintan Research Foundation, Observer Research Foundation, Kalinga Institute of Indo-Pacific and many others. Centre’s Members and Fellows have contributed through publications and conference participation along with their interns. Interns are currently working on different themes under the guidance of CSPR Fellows, under different divisions like Foreign Policy and Security Studies (FPSS); Legal Studies and Public Policy (LSPP) and Economic and Public Policy (EPP) and their research is in the progress stage. We are following a rolling basis internships program to enhance the research ecosystem.
