The Centre for Studies in Population and Development (CSPD), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR Campus, invites applications for student internships aimed at building research, policy, and field engagement capacities in the domain of population and development.
The CSPD internship is research- and field-oriented, combining desk-based analytical work with fieldwork, community engagement, and outreach programmes.
Work closely with CSPD faculty and research teams on ongoing and proposed projects aligned with the Centre's thematic areas.
The internship is designed to nurture critical thinking, research ethics, writing skills, and social responsibility.
Interns may be involved in one or more of the following:
Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in population and development issues and a willingness to engage in field-based and team-oriented work.

The initial internship duration is six (6) months.
Based on satisfactory performance, commitment, and evaluation by the Centre, the internship may be extended for a further six (6) months, making it a one-year internship.
Interns are expected to engage with CSPD activities on a weekly basis as per the work plan shared by the Centre.
A weekly work report documenting tasks completed, learning outcomes, and challenges faced must be submitted to the assigned faculty mentor.
Field visits, outreach activities, and meetings may require physical presence, travel, and time-bound commitments.
Interns must participate in a minimum of two (2) fieldwork engagements, including data collection and community outreach activities.
Interns are required to contribute to two (2) working papers under the guidance of CSPD faculty.
Interns must contribute to at least one (1) full research paper, which may be targeted for conference presentation or publication, subject to quality and relevance.
Adherence to research ethics, data confidentiality, and institutional guidelines
Timely completion of assigned tasks and regular reporting to faculty mentors
Active participation in training sessions, review meetings, and Centre activities
Professional conduct during fieldwork and community interactions
Develop applied research and analytical skills
Gain hands-on experience in field-based social science research
Enhance academic and policy writing abilities
Understand the link between research, policy and community engagement
CSPD internships are open for two batches in every academic year.
